Lamp MHL-7000 also known as MHL 7000 is a 7000-watt diazo exposure lamp used in printed circuit board (PCB) and photolithography exposure. Bulb crosses to ORC SMX-7000, Amba-7000, Western Quartz and Ushio.
MHL-7000 operates 550 volts @ 13 amps, overall length 15.28 inches (388 mm), arc length 10.75” (273 mm) with ceramic end caps and wire leads.
Tech tip
To produce the required diazo spectral output, lamp is dosed with small amount of gallium triiodide (GaI3). When cold, GaI3 casts a yellow film on bulb’s inner surface. Once lit the yellow film boils off entering vapor stage of the arc. This is not indicative of a defective or used lamp rather it is the means by which proper UV output is generated.
